FYSA State Cup Roster and USSF Academy Players Requirements
FYSA and US Youth Soccer Championships are following USSF’s requirement that players rostered as full-time Academy players will NOT be allowed to participate in US Youth National Championship Series events including our FYSA State Cup or other outside activities (except within open windows for outside competition in which Academy teams can only participate in specific approved events [i.e. Dallas Cup, Disney Showcase]).  FYSA has been in contact with USSF regarding the USSF Academy teams from Florida, and the status for all players rostered to these teams to ensure compliance with their requirements by such teams and players, and FYSA’s requirement as an affiliate of USSF to be in compliance with their rules.

Developmental players will be allowed to participate as they do not have the requirements or the benefits of a full-time Academy player.  Developmental players must be registered to a youth team in the same club in which they are rostered as a developmental player on the club’s USSF Academy team.  Only players that are formally released from the Academy Program roster (not just no longer playing - but actually released from the roster as allowed by USSF subject to their rostering requirements) can be included on a State Cup roster at our roster freeze and therefore eligible for State Cup provided they meet all other eligibility requirements and roster freeze dates.
