Adult Volunteer/Member Registration

Adult Member Registration

It is a major goal of FYSA to provide a safe environment for our children to enjoy the game of soccer. To this end, FYSA has in place a risk management policy, Kid’s Safe, for the protection of its players. This policy can only be effective if all affiliates of FYSA “buy in” to the program. It is a proven fact that convicted felons and predators use youth sports to identify potential victims.

FYSA’s risk management policy requires that every adult member that has contact with or access to our players and/or their confidential data must be cleared through a national background check. This action is for the protection of not only FYSA and its affiliate members but ultimately our most precious resource, the children entrusted to us.

As such, FYSA requires that every affiliate register any and all adult members in order for an annual criminal background check to be conducted.

For Full Affiliates:
FYSA requires annual registration of all adult members who, as stated above, will interact with our players. This is to include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • All coaches, assistant coaches, team trainers, and team managers.
  • All affiliate administrators listed on the affiliation form.
  • Any affiliate employee who may interact with the players or has access to player data.
  • It is a requirement for access to the FYSA secure site that the party be registered with FYSA and cleared through the background check system.
For Associate Affiliates (Leagues and Tournaments):
FYSA requires annual registration of all adult members who, as stated above, will interact with our players or have access to player data. This is to include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • All affiliate administrators listed on the affiliation form.
  • Any employee or volunteer who will interact with players at league games or tournaments or has access to player data.
  • It is a requirement for access to the FYSA secure site that the party be registered with FYSA and cleared through the background check system.
Effective September 1, 2009, access to the FYSA secure site will be removed for any person not registered for the 2009-2010 season.

Full affiliates can register returning adult members via electronic upload, providing the affiliate has on file a current season risk management disclosure form. New coaches are registered through the newcoaches@fysa.com email address with attached files containing scanned copies of the risk management disclosure forms and a “.csv” file with the coach information. Adult members currently registered this seasonal year with a full affiliate can serve an associate affiliate with no further action.

For members of associate affiliates that are not currently registered with a full affiliate, FYSA allows the Agent of Record to submit to the FYSA office completed risk management disclosure forms. These volunteers will appear on the associate member’s “000” team but will not have a coaches’ pass.

It is incumbent upon all members of FSYA to support and participate in this risk management program. Without all members’ participation, the program may fail to offer the level of protection we can best provide.
