Region D ODP Process

The ODP selection process for Region D will be handled differently this year. FYSA DOC, Mike Strickler and his state staff will be identifying players from Region D at league and tournament dates this fall. Players who are identified will be sent a letter and an application to continue with the ODP process. Additionally, DOC’s from within Region D will work together to identify players.

Registration process:    For players born in 1993-1995 who would like to participate in the training centers (see below).  Players born in 1991 and 1992 will not need to preregister.  1991 and 1992 players that are identified will be sent the registration information and information concerning the program and they will need to complete the registration process if they wish to proceed.

All players in the 93-95 age groups are invited to attend the ODP training centers to be held in November and December. Information and application for those training centers will be available at the FYSA website (www.fysa.com) under ODP once we have set the sites and dates for these centers.   Players attending these sessions will receive quality training and identifications will be made at these centers for future state pools and teams.  Those players identified in the 1994 and 1995 will attend a Supercenter in January and in the 1993 age group State Trials to be identified for our State Pools and Teams.  There will also be a developmental camp in June for the identified 1995 players.

Players in the 91-92 age groups will also be identified during the fall and those selected will be invited to participate in the state trials to be held in May.

Any player who wishes to attend "regular" ODP trials held in Regions A,B,C may do so by filling out the application on the FYSA website (www.fysa.com). Those trials are in the fall for 94-95’s and in the spring for 91-93’s.

Summary:    We will be looking at players in Region D through a number of means.  Players born in 1991-1995 can be identified through the help of the club DOCs and our state staff scouting of players in games.  Additionally players in the 1993-1995 age groups have the opportunity to attend the Region D training centers and be identified there.  Registration at this point only needs to occur for the 1993-1995 training centers.  Finally a player in Region D can always attend one of the regularly scheduled tryouts in Region A, B, or C.
