SUBJ:             Referee  Assignors Re-Certifications

We have a serious potential problem on January 1, 2005 with assignors being currently certified to assign FYSA sanctioned matches.

FYSA Rule 101.9

“101.9  Referees and/or game officials for any FYSA sanctioned games must be assigned by currently certified referee assignors as defined by USSF.”

Requires that every game assigned be done so by a currently certified assignor.

USSF and FSR (Florida State Referees)  now has a re-certification course in place that is mandatory for any assignor to take prior to re-certification. This is a two hour course.

Reports to FYSA from the field indicate that assignors are NOT attending, or don’t have knowledge of this new requirement.

As of January 1, 2005, unless your assignor is properly certified by FSR they will not be able to assign FYSA sanctioned matches.

Current course offerings from FSR are listed on their website.  http://www.fsr-inc.com/

It is recommended that you contact your assignor NOW to ensure they are aware of this new requirement and have plans to comply prior to 1 January 2005.

This is a serious matter which could impact our games after the lst of the year.

Any question please contact me at tthompson@fysa.com or your local referee administration.
