Gov. Bush signs Sports Officials' Protection Bill
Florida Gov. Jeb Bush signed a sports officials’ protection bill on June 10 2004, giving Florida sports officials at all levels of competition added protection from assaults effective Oct. 1 2004.

The new law, provides enhanced penalties for assault, battery, aggravated assault or aggravated battery against sports officials. Those crimes against officials could now result in fines up to $10,000 and threes years in jail.
 
Please pass this on to all your officials, they need to call the police and have the person arrested if they have a referee assault.
