2021-2022 State & Regional League Recap

AUBURNDALE, FL (June 16, 2022)- On Sunday, April 17, 2022, all-league play had concluded with champions waiting to be crowned. After a long ten (10) months, all-season games have finished with a few league-determining games to complete the 2021-2022 league competition year off.

Florida Youth Soccer Association complements the USYS League Structure as four high-level statewide leagues have been implemented into youth soccer with a promotion and relegation method. This includes Florida State Premier League 1 & 2, Sunshine Conference, and lastly, Sunshine Conference Academy. These leagues consist of over two hundred (200) clubs competing within the age groups of U13-U19.

The Florida State Premier League 1 & 2 is an effective and prominent gateway for teams state-wide to compete at a high level. Teams that place first in Florida State Premier League 1 will have the opportunity to accept their automatic bid to the Sunshine Conference, whilst teams that finish last will be regulated to Florida State Premier League 2 and so on.

The Sunshine Conference is a Team v Team based regional league compromised of teams primarily in Georgia and Florida and is part of the USYS National League Conferences. Sunshine Conference creates an opportunity for teams that place first and second to receive and accept an automatic bid to National League P.R.O. for the following season. Teams that also place first in the Sunshine Conference receive an automatic bid to the USYS Southern Regional event with those teams that have qualified through State Cup.

While Sunshine Conference is Team v Team format, Sunshine Conference Academy is a Club v Club format and a separate division of the USYS National League Conference. Club-based competition allows for like-minded clubs to compete against each other in a competitive environment that helps the clubs strive toward their goals and objectives. Sunshine Conference Academy also provides advancement opportunities to USYS Regional Championships (NCS) and National League P.R.O.

Thank you to all teams who have participated in our statewide leagues this year, and congratulations to all league winners!

The deadline to complete an application for the 2022-2023 year is June 17, 2022!

The US Youth Soccer National League provides the top league competition in USYS and is comprised of three areas of competition:

  • Elite 64 is the top club-based league format in the National League, offering like-minded elite clubs with a platform to compete against each other while focusing on maximizing the experience of the players.

  • National League P.R.O. (Player. Recruitment. Opportunity.) serves as the competitive national league format in which teams compete for direct advancement to the annual US Youth Soccer National Championships. Teams earn their place into National League P.R.O. each season through their performance in the Conferences.

  • National League Conferences operate team-based and club-based leagues while providing a qualification pathway to...

    • the current season's USYS Regional Championships

    • the next seasonal year of National League P.R.O.
