AUBURNDALE, FL (March 10, 2022)- The 2022 ODP National Training Camp (NTC) wrapped up on January 30 at the Tournament Sportsplex of Tampa Bay in Tampa, Florida. Players from all across the country in the 2008-2004 age groups were selected for the NTC. This event allowed players to showcase their abilities and further challenge themselves as they trained & competed alongside other top-tier players in their age groups.
Thirty (30) players attended the NTC representing Florida ODP, the most selected from any individual state program. Read more on that here.
Besides the high-level training and quality competition, here are some additional highlights from the ODP National Training Event:
- Over two hundred (200) players were screened for possible faulty movement patterns that can increase the risk of injury among youth soccer players by the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS).
- All players participated in a presentation by, former University of Florida Women's Soccer Head Coach, Becky Burleigh and, author, Brett Ledbetter on What Drives Winning. More on What Drives Winning here.
- All NTC age group teams participated in high-level matches against ECNL and MLS Next teams.
- Over thirty (30) college coaches, six (6) MLS scouts, and two (2) US Soccer scouts were in attendance at the NTC event giving all players prominent recruiting exposure.
