New York Life and U.S. Soccer Donate $10,000 to FYSA in Support of Girls Soccer in Tampa Bay

TAMPA, FLORIDA (DECEMBER 19, 2025) – U.S. Soccer’s legacy initiative, the Soccer Forward Foundation, in partnership with New York Life, has awarded Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) a $10,000 donation to expand access, participation, and development opportunities for girls’ soccer in the Greater Tampa Bay Area.
The donation was announced and presented during Soccer Forward’s Play Day at the Tampa Bay Rowdies Training Facility on November 16, 2025. The community-focused event welcomed approximately 150 youth soccer players, families, and TOPSoccer participants, emphasizing inclusion, accessibility, and connection through the game.
Expanding Access to Girls Soccer in Florida
The $10,000 grant will support FYSA’s efforts to increase girls’ soccer participation, enhance player development, and introduce new pathways for engagement through its Girls in Soccer Program. Targeted programming and local outreach initiatives are designed to provide more girls with opportunities to play, develop skills, and thrive both on and off the field throughout the Tampa Bay region.
“This generous donation directly supports our mission to broaden access to soccer for girls in our local communities,” said Ryan Foley, Executive Director of Florida Youth Soccer Association. “With the support of the Soccer Forward Foundation and New York Life, we can further strengthen our Girls in Soccer program and create meaningful, lasting opportunities for young female athletes.”
About FYSA’s Girls in Soccer Program
FYSA’s Girls in Soccer Program delivers regionally based, female-focused programming across Florida. Events take a holistic approach to athlete development, combining game play, strength and conditioning, and impactful conversations on women’s body and mental health, confidence, and the role of social media in young athletes’ lives.
The program is supported by all-female coaching staff and strategic partnerships with organizations such as Girl Talk and Tampa Bay Sun FC, helping to build a strong, supportive community for girls both on and off the field.

Soccer Forward Foundation’s Commitment to Community Impact
The Soccer Forward Foundation, an initiative of U.S. Soccer, is dedicated to increasing access to the sport and leveraging soccer as a vehicle for positive social change. “Soccer Forward exists to increase access to the game and amplify its impact, especially in communities where opportunity hasn’t always been equal,” said Nora Dooley, Manager of Community Engagement and Activation, U.S. Soccer. “We’re grateful to partner with New York Life to support Florida Youth Soccer Association and the important work they’re doing. When we invest in our members and their programs, we’re investing in the future of soccer.”
