Player Membership

All players applying for membership must do so through an affiliated member club each seasonal-year. FYSA offers the following player member types:

• Competitive Player Membership ($26/player)
• Recreational Player Membership ($13/player)
• TOPSoccer Player Membership ($0/player)

Document Requirements for Players

• Proof of Age/Identity: Competitive Players must submit a proof of age document upon their first competitive registration with FYSA, and a recent head-portrait photo on a regular basis.
• Player SafeSport Requirement: Players that are 18 years old or will be 18 years old by seasonal year end shall complete SafeSport training prior to team assignment.

Coach Registration

All coaches applying for membership must do so through an affiliated member club each seasonal year. Coaches must submit FYSA approved compliance documents and pass a FYSA background check in their GotSport account for verification (if not previously verified).

Coaching Education may be required by a league/competition authority. See local rules for additional information.

• Concussion Education: This requirement is satisfied by completing the CDC Heads Up Course. Coaches may launch the course through their GotSport account. Click here for instructions.
• SafeSport Training: This requirement must be completed on an annual basis. Coaches may launch the course through their GotSport account. Click here for instructions.
  • Year One: SafeSport Core Training (1.5-2 hrs)
  • Year Two: SafeSport Core Refresher 1 (15-20 mins)
  • Year Three: SafeSport Core Refresher 2 (15-20 mins)
  • Year Four: SafeSport Core Refresher 3 (15-20 mins)
  • Year Five: SafeSport Core Training (cycle repeats)

Background Checks

Effective July 1, 2026, Florida law requires all coaches, assistant coaches, team managers, and other adults who regularly work with Florida-based youth athletes to complete a Level 2 background screening. To comply with this requirement, FYSA will process all Level 2 screenings through the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Clearinghouse. This centralized process increases the portability of screening results across youth sports organizations and care providers. A Level 2 screening through the AHCA Clearinghouse includes:

• Fingerprint-based criminal history screening
• Applicant photograph
• Comprehensive screening history is accessible to FYSA
• Real-time notification to FYSA of subsequent arrests or criminal convictions
• Five-year screening validity

Background Check Schedule

• Year 1: ACHA Level 2 Background Check (Fingerprinting)
• Year 2: No Action Needed
• Year 3: National Criminal Check (SSN Based)
• Year 4: No Action Needed
• Year 5: Renew ACHA Level 2 Background Check (Fingerprinting)

Background Check Payment

All Background Checks must be paid for in advance of the background check completion when using FYSA’s screening partner, Biometrics4ALL.

• Applicant Pays (Default) – $92.75 per Screening
  • By default, applicants will pay the screening fee before scheduling an appointment. The fee is $92.75 per screening, and the screening is valid for 5 years. Payment is required before an appointment may be scheduled.
• Club Pays (Opt-In) – $84.50 per Screening
  • Clubs may establish a direct billing relationship with Biometrics4ALL, permitting applicants to schedule an appointment without submitting a fee at the time of application. The fee is reduced to $84.50 per screening, and the screening is valid for 5 years. Clubs must enroll in autopay through Biometrics4All for monthly remittance. Billing is in arrears on the first day of the month, with automatic payment occurring 48 hours after the invoice is issued. Note: Only clubs enrolled in direct billing may request an on-site screening event.
  • Click here to opt in to direct billing by July 31, 2026. Direct billing requests received after July 31, 2026, will be processed on the 1st of the following month through October.
