**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**

Kristine Lilly to Grace the 2024 Florida Youth Soccer Association 50th Annual General Meeting as Special Guest

[Auburndale, FL, May 15, 2024] – Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) is thrilled to announce that Kristine Lilly, one of the most iconic figures in the history of women’s soccer, will be joining us as the Special Guest for a Fireside Discussion at our 50th Annual General Meeting and Vendor Showcase, August 2-4, 2024.

Kristine Lilly’s remarkable career speaks volumes about her dedication, talent, and leadership on the field. Retiring as a player in 2010, Kristine Lilly still holds the title of the world’s all-time leader in international appearances, male or female, with an astounding 354 caps. Her achievements are unparalleled, being the first player in U.S. history to hit 100, 200, and 300 caps, a testament to her enduring excellence and commitment to the sport.

With 130 career goals and 105 assists, Kristine Lilly’s impact on the game is immeasurable. She has represented the United States in five World Cups, winning in 1991 and 1999, and has claimed two Olympic gold medals in 1996 and 2004. Her 30 matches in World Cup play still stand as a U.S. record, showcasing her dominance on the world stage.

Remarkably, Kristine Lilly appeared for the USA in four different decades and holds the distinction of being both the youngest and oldest player ever to score for the U.S. Women’s National Team, solidifying her status as a trailblazer in the sport.

Off the field, Kristine Lilly continues to inspire as an author, entrepreneur, and advocate for the sport. Her book “Powerhouse: 13 Teamwork Tactics that Build Excellence and Unrivaled Success” delves into the success of the U.S. Women’s National Team, offering invaluable insights for organizations striving for greatness. As the founder of the Kristine Lilly Soccer Academy and co-founder of TeamFirst Soccer Academy, she is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of soccer stars.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina with a degree in Communications, Kristine Lilly’s accolades extend beyond the soccer field. As a four-time NCAA Champion, four-time ACC Champion, and four-time All-American, her impact on collegiate soccer is undeniable.

In recognition of her exceptional contributions to the sport, Kristine Lilly was inducted into the United States Olympic Hall of Fame in 2012 and the US Soccer Hall of Fame in 2014, cementing her legacy as one of the greatest athletes of all time.

“We are honored to welcome Kristine Lilly to our 50th Annual General Meeting,” said Joel Dragan, Executive Director of FYSA. “Her unparalleled achievements and commitment to the sport serve as an inspiration to players of all ages. Having a legend like Kristine, join us for this milestone event not only adds prestige but also embodies the rich legacy and dedication to soccer that FYSA stands for. We look forward to her insights and wisdom during the Fireside Discussion, enriching our celebration and leaving a lasting impact on all who attend.”

Kristine Lilly’s presence at the 2024 FYSA Annual General Meeting promises to be a highlight of our milestone event. Join us in celebrating her legendary career and contributions to the beautiful game.
