FYSA’s 50th AGM Rundown
Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) held its momentous 50th Annual General Meeting (AGM) August 2-4, 2024, at the JW Marriott in Grande Lakes, Orlando. The weekend was filled with inspiration, recognition, and celebration, marking five decades of dedication to the growth and development of youth soccer in Florida.
A Memorable Awards Banquet
Saturday evening’s Awards Banquet was the highlight of the weekend, featuring speeches from two distinguished guests who left a lasting impact on attendees.
Tyrre Burks, CEO and Founder of Players Health, delivered a powerful speech on the importance of athlete safety and well-being, underscoring the need for continued vigilance in supporting youth athletes.
Later on soccer legend Kristine Lilly took to the stage, sharing insights from her illustrious career. As a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and two-time World Cup Champion, Lilly’s stories of perseverance and triumph resonated deeply with the audience.
The banquet also served as a platform to honor numerous award winners who have made significant contributions to youth soccer in Florida. Among the honorees were three National Champions, whose achievements brought pride to the entire FYSA community. The evening concluded with a lively casino night, where attendees celebrated the milestone anniversary with games and camaraderie.
A Vibrant Vendor Hall and Informative Sessions
Saturday was also marked by an incredible vendor hall featuring around 40 different vendors showcasing the latest in soccer gear, technology, and services. Attendees had the opportunity to explore a wide array of products and services and connect with industry leaders, making it a valuable experience for all.
In addition to the vendor hall, a myriad of breakout sessions took place throughout the day. These sessions provided attendees with insights into various aspects of the game, from coaching techniques to administrative best practices and even players health and training. The diverse range of topics ensured that there was something for everyone, whether they were coaches, referees, administrators, or players.
Sunday’s General Meeting and New Leadership
The AGM weekend concluded with Sunday’s General Meeting Session, where FYSA members gathered to discuss important matters and elect the new Board of Directors.
